Journal of today’s activities:
This morning I ran 15.5 miles. Then I completed a series of follow-up work in response to all of the meetings that I had yesterday. I sent lengthy emails to each of the people I met, and I followed those emails with handwritten thank-you cards to express my gratitude for the people who took the time to listen to me. I consider community leaders courageous when they accept meetings with me. After all, I only recently concluded 26 years of incarceration. It’s a privilege that they’re willing to consider the innovative suggestions on improving community safety that I make. Following those responsibilities, I caught up on other administrative work, then I turned my attention to writing out a plan for the new business venture that I’m considering with my friend Tom and his partners.
