I finished listening to an Audible file during my run this morning. Zig Zigler wrote the book I finished listening to this morning. I’ve known about Zig Zigler for decades. He is well known for a career he built as a salesman of kitchenware and insurance. But his real claim to fame has been as a speaker and author. He authored a series of courses that inspire salesmen. One of his famous lines is something like: You can get everything you want if you teach enough people how to get everything they want. I listen to business books or sales-related books while I’m running in order to multi-task. While I was in prison I had a very disciplined path to educate myself, and that path included reading. Since I’ve been home, however, I’ve found resources like Audible and YouTube to help me absorb information while I’m doing other things. Now I educate myself by listening to books or watching YouTube videos while exercising. That way I can make the best use of my time, maximizing every hour of every day. I learned that strategy while living in cages and I continue to employ it every day.
