Facebook released its earnings yesterday, surpassing analyst expectations by a long shot. Technology companies really change the world. I’m enthusiastic about the earnings report, as it’s a sign that other technology companies may also have performed well during the quarter. Last week I purchased shares in Go Pro, the camera manufacturer that millions of people now use. I purchased the stock soon after it went public, speculating that investors would buy into the vision of the company. It’s more than a camera maker. Go Pro aspires to become a media company with rich amounts of user-generated content. Athletes use the cameras to record their achievements, then use the company’s software to load the video footage onto the Internet. Facebook’s strong earning’s report encourages me that Go Pro, also, will surpass expectations on its first earnings report as a public company. The company reports next Thursday, and I’ll expect the stock to respond well.
