DEA agents arrested me 27 years ago, on August 11, 1987. I spent the next 26 years in prison. I spent the past year on supervised release. Today my life is different. I traveled to San Jose to meet with a wealthy friend. I told him about the career that I am building and opportunities that I see. Then I asked him to invest in a real estate venture in Belize that would bring $48 million in revenues. He agreed to take the next step, so I’m incredibly optimistic about advancing that possibility. Some people would say that “I’m lucky” to have friends who are willing to invest in me. The truth is, the harder I work, the luckier I become. I haven’t closed this deal yet, but I’m looking forward to advancing the discussion.
