Last night Carole and I dined with more than 20 people in a private dining room at the Pelican Hill Hotel. Tonight, I went to dinner with my close friend Lee Nobmann. We dined at the famed Maestro’s Ocean Club restaurant in Newport Beach. While at dinner, I told Lee about the career that I’m building and listened to his guidance on steps I can take to prepare for the years ahead. Carole and I certainly are getting older. We set a plan before I concluded my term in prison and we’ve followed that plan closely. Lee was a part of the plan from the start, and I enjoyed the quiet time we spent together as I outlined progress we had made. Carole will graduate in eight more months with her master’s degree in nursing. Once she reaches that goal, I pledged to Lee, I’d allow myself to decompress with fewer hours of work each week. I’m still working seven days a week, but once Carole graduates, I’ll scale it back some, if not the number of days, at least the number of hours each day.
