Christian Denmon is a principal at the law firm Denmon & Denmon, in Tampa. He reached out to me a few weeks ago to share an infographic that illustrated the horrors of our nation’s commitment to mass incarceration. I used his infographic in a speech I made at UC Berkeley. I wanted the students to understand that reversing the terrible consequences that have followed mass incarceration requires assistance from people from every walk of life, even lawyers.
Christian’s practice isn’t a public-service law firm. In fact, he and his partners practice personal injury, criminal defense, and divorce law. Yet in sending me the infographic on mass incarceration, he showed that he too wants to make a positive contribution to changing policies that have led to intergenerational cycles of failure.
With my new site, PrisonProfessor.com, I expect to add value to law firms like Denmon & Denmon. When they represent defendants who face imprisonment, it’s my hope that they will use the products and services we make available through Prison Professor to prepare those defendants for the challenges ahead. Of course we’ll pay generous referral fees to those defense attorneys. In the alternative, we can issue enterprise licenses that will allow the defense attorneys to pass along our services to the clients they represent. This commercial effort will allow me to earn a living while I continue working to reverse the greatest social injustice of our time: Mass incarceration.
Please consider Denmon and Denmon if you’re of need of counsel in Florida.
