I received a call from a producer at PBS today. She told me that the network was going to rebroadcast the profile it filmed about our work on the PBS NewsHour. That’s great news, as I’m always grateful to expand our brand awareness. She wanted to supplement the episode with more news on what I’ve been doing since PBS initially filmed the episode. I provided her with a rundown of my work. She would be able to add a few sentences to the episode, she said. I told her about work we’re doing in with juveniles in Southern California, which interested her. But when I told her that I’d been invited to provide closing remarks at a law symposium that UC Hastings Law School is hosting, she thought that would be the best fit. Other speakers at the symposium include the US Attorney from the Northern District of California, and several federal judges. I’ll provide the closing remarks for the symposium on federal sentencing reform. I’m looking forward to the event, as I will use it as the official launch of PrisonProfessor.com. At least that was my intention. In addition to providing closing remarks, I’ll be contributing an article that the UC Hasting’s law journal will publish. I’m really looking forward to 2015 and the opportunities that will open.
