Journal of today’s activities:

I spent many hours doing clerical work today. I call it “clerical work” because it is a distraction from the creative work that I should be doing. Instead of writing new content, I had to navigate my way around a complicated software program in order to update templates on our organization’s website. This type of work takes a lot of time because I’m not as proficient as I would like to be with web development. I worked side by side with an expert, but as a consequence of my initial design of the template, I had to go through each page to make changes. The template has more than 400 pages, so it was a time-consuming project. These are the pains of a growing organization.
